As part of the restoration and opening to visitors of the National Palace of Addis Ababa, the former Imperial Palace of Emperor Haile Selassie I, the collection of 75 official cars and carriages from the imperial era is now stored in temporary hangars, as are the four historic carriages of the imperial train, whose interior fittings are exceptional.
The richness of this collection deserves to be presented to the public.
A large, largely glazed pavilion will be created within the historic park for this museum. A new, half-buried construction of 5,000 m² will fit into the park's landscape and will be a virtuous building, meeting sustainable development objectives.
