1975 - Architect Qualified by the Government (D.P.L.G.)

1981 - Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, Member of the Academy of Architecture, Laureate of the American Institute of Architects.

Born on January 31, 1951 in Budapest, Hungary, Gabor Mester de Parajd fled his country during the 1956 revolution with his parents and older brother. The family then had to stay in Vienna for six months, before settling in Paris.

Is it this obligatory station in this historic city - with all the activities of games in the gardens of Schönbrunn, snowy afternoons in museums and palaces - associated with a scientific paternal heritage and a maternal heritage of historians and archaeologists that led him to architecture?

The fact is that the choice of this profession has always been there, obvious.

He studied at UP3 in Versailles, in the studio of Louis Arretche, with whom he went to work after his diploma. He left it soon enough to build a bush hospital in Togo for the Order of Malta, to restructure a guest house in Versailles and the other projects followed one another.

Louis Arretche will remain his mentor, his spiritual father. On his advice, he followed the training of the École de Chaillot and passed the competition for Chief Architect of Historic Monuments.

He does not approach his training as Chief Architect of Historic Monuments as an end, but as a complementary training essential to his Art. The alphabet and grammar of architecture, it is in his eyes an essential knowledge for any contemporary creation as well as for any restoration.

Created in a loft in Versailles and now located in the sixth arrondissement of Paris, the agency has about fifteen members who all have in their creativity, this sensitivity to the history of Architecture as well as to the modernity of forms, techniques, materials, people.

Is there an exercise as rich in art, humanity, science, technology, history, religion, modernity, futurism, as the practice of architecture?
